When should FH start looking for Tuxes?

Our wedding is in April 06. Also - some of his BP are from out of state...Will most places send a tux to a home if they call in their measurements??

Re: When should FH start looking for Tuxes?

DH got his tux 3 weeks before the wedding. My brother and another GM who were the only two that didn't already own tuxes went two weeks before the wedding.

Re: When should FH start looking for Tuxes?

3 months before the wedding is plenty of time. If GM are out-of-state, it may be best to go to a chain that has stores in their area. I've never heard of a store sending a tux to a home. I think you have to pick them up. It's better to pick them up and try the tuxes on in case there are any problems that need to be fixed.

Re: When should FH start looking for Tuxes?

Fh and I just went to the tux place last Sat and he told us the guys start fittings Feb 1 for us (we are getting married Feb 25- so I'm guessing a month?).

Just so you know, all professional tux places will measure you and send the measurements to any other professional tux place as a courtesy. Chain stores don't neccessarily make it easier. I've seen so-so reviews about one large chain store that many people use- tho FBIL used them and they were fine. I didn't want to risk it so we went with a real tux place. Also, the tux place has better stock- not as worn out and in the store.

The GM are going to pick up the tuxes the day or two before the wedding and if there are any problems the shop has stock on hand- unlike other places- so they can fix any last min problems.

Good luck!
