Bridezilla or bad mood!?!

I just yelled at my FH for telling his sister it was OK to buy me something off our registry for Christmas. I am now the proud owner of a crock pot.

I'm sorry but its bad enough we are registered for very little in the first place!!!

Is it just me?? !!

Re: Bridezilla or bad mood!?!

IMO, getting a registry gift for your b-day or X-mas is ok... it's the choice of her gift to you (a crockpot) I would have a problem with

I can see getting someone a nice picture frame, a decorative dish, a crystal vase. but a crockpot?

Re: Bridezilla or bad mood!?!

I wouldn't care for something off my registry for Christmas - I feel registry items are for FH and I. Where as a Christmas gift to me should just be for me - like a gift card to Nine West or something that just I can use.

But if you register for it, then you do want it, right? I thought your registry is a wish list, and anything off your wish list is good.

Re: Bridezilla or bad mood!?!

We totally prefer people buy us gifts off of our registry.... I couldn't understand half of the 'crap' we got last year when we had a registry full of things we wanted and needed...

I just heard this same sentiment from someone else recently and I had never considered it before. That said, I have given people stuff off their registry for the holidays before. For example, I gave my brother and his wife an expensive set of their crystal for Christmas last year. It was to both of them, not just one and then I got them each some little stuff too. I hope they liked it-oh well!

Re: Bridezilla or bad mood!?!

We got married 2 months ago and I asked my family to buy me things off my registry for Chanukah. I'd like to complete my registry without having to shell out all of the $ to do so.

Re: Bridezilla or bad mood!?!

We have been getting things off our registry since last Christmas. Since my FI is the one that registered for most everything, I just deal. He's the cook and knows what he needs.

Add stuff you never thought you would. We have added candles, which just came in the mail yesterday, decorative prints for the walls, upgrades to our pots and pans (donating the old ones to charity), and others. We were told to put it down as a wish list. Upgrading rocks!

Re: Bridezilla or bad mood!?!

I don't think it would bother me. At least it's something I know I want.

Although, I would probably want something a bit more personal.

Tough call!

Now, if my fiance bought the crockpot then I'd be reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal upset!

Hang in there!

Re: Bridezilla or bad mood!?!

I know that my mom and FMIL are getting me stuff off my registry for Christmas BUT only a small amount of stuff. AND, we registered for a lot of stuff so I dont think we'll get it all at my shower anyway. I can see your point though. Your wedding IS NOT Christmas and for some people they should stay separate. And her choice in gifts is sort of strange..a crockpot for Christmas!!??
