DIY save the dates
I'm trying to make my own save the date magnets. Does anyone have pics of ones they made with help on how you made them? Any help would be appreciated!

Re: DIY save the dates
I used Word Perfect. I inserted a text box and typed in the information I wanted, and then next to it I put an e-pic. I am now waiting for FH to convert the file so I can upload it to vistaprint and order them. At the rate he is going I'm sure the invites will go out first.

Re: DIY save the dates
I used an invitation kit from Micahel's/AC Moore. I just got a poem I thought was cute from LIW and then I printed them. I tied the two and that was it!# 1 is the STD
# 2 is the hotel info card
# 3 is the monogram on the top of the STD and hotel info card
ETA: The poem reads:
Our Day is Steadily Approaching
And we Can hardly Wait
We Really Want you There
Please Be sure to save the date

Re: DIY save the dates
I can't find mine anymore made them last year
I'll look but I bought the magnets from like Staples (office max). They come 30 to a package and 10 to a sheet. They were Avery and the template was already on my microsoft word. I designed a style I wanted then just put them in each box of the table. Printed at home and done!My home printer ***** somewhat and since they were magnets it was getting stuck so I did waste about 3 sheets trying to get them to work properly. I did a lot of print outs on paper too to align it perfectly in the center of each magnet and stuff. It was much cheaper than buying them made.
I then used card stock paper and made a small like post card size with more information and our website. I used double sided tape and stuck the magnets to the cards. I ordered small envelopes from www.doubleupaper.com and I was done!

Re: DIY save the dates
Here's ours & yes I realize I left out an 'e' on my screenname (unfortunately I left it out on 1 of the 4 magnets...URRRR) Anyway...I bought full page magnets from staples & then used Word & put 4 on a page and printed it directly onto the magnet, they were easy to print & cut. I then sent them in our holiday cards, but Staples also has colored envelopes.

Re: DIY save the dates
HTHI amde a STD and a magnet and sent out both...I made both in Microsoft Publisher (love this program - so easy and if you need help let me know)
As far as the magnets I desogned what they call a business card in the program because they are the same size as the magnet, printed them out and then got the magnets with the sticky back that you peel off (make sense) and I think they came out pretty damn good!!
I also put in a card with our wedding website and info for the hotel those are the other cards
Tha mgnet is the smaller pink thing
