I dont want to walk down to it, I want it to be different but my dj didnt have too many suggestions. Only Trumpet Voluntary. So I am deciding between these two. What are you all doing? Any suggestions?

Absolutely not. Being Jewish, I would never have anything played by Wagner. Other suggestions: The Prince of Denmark, by Clarke, The Wedding March, by Mendohlson, or Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, by Handel.

Misha - help!!
Hi! Please help me - I am Jewish too (not even close to selecting music for ceremony, but your post concerned me). What's wrong with that march for Jewish people. Sorry if I sound naive :(...

My bridal party walked in to 'Ode to Joy' by Beethoven, and I walked in to Pachelbel's Canon in D major. I really dislike organ music, so both were played on the piano. I really liked the way they sounded. Hope that helps! : )

Wagner was a German composer...Many associate his style with the old German Nationalism, German atrocities toward Jews, etc. Give my DJ a call...Music by Michael (631.928.5918)... He has an incredible selection of music besides the traditionals and will give you some suggestions.

wagner was an anti-semite...
and hitler used his music for almost every propaganda film he did. Wagners grandson just recently wrote a book about him, disapproving of his views. But one of the best opera composers around. His opera 'The Ring' is about 24 hours over a few days and sells out probably faster than Madonna.

Since I am getting married outdoors, I have decided to use 'What a Wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong.

The guest are being seated to 'Canon in D' & 'greensleeves'. The bridal party is walking to 'Water Music'; dad & I are walking to 'Trumpet Voluntary' and our recessional will be 'Linus & Lucy' theme from Peanuts.

'This is the Moment' - from Jeckyl & Hyde
My friend used that a couple years ago for her entrance. It was amazing (My fiance & I saw the show with her and her husband, so it also had special meaning). I may use it too.

Wagner help - thanks!
Just read your post now, but yes, everyone seemed to answer your question. Several rabbis actually tell brides that they would disapprove of his music being used so good idea to look for something else. It may help you to get a Wedding Music CD just so you can hear the many many many options out there!

I really didnt want Here Comes the Bride but FI was really pushing it saying 'expectations' and 'traditions', well since 3/4 of his family is Jewish, I called him right up and told him. Guess what? I am not allowed to use it now!! LOL and thank you.
