Did you get professional engagement photos taken?

We actually got engaged while we were on vacation so we have tons of pics from that trip already. I don't know if we should get professional engagement photos taken.

Usually when you book your Photographer, they include this automatically...

I did my own, then again I AM a photographer LOL :) Set the tripod up and the self timer and ta da!

they do include in most photo wedding packets thou.

We were on vacation on a cruise. We took one professional pic with the cruise photographer.

It is part of our wedding photography package. We had a lot of fun taking them. It's a good way to get used to posing in front of the camera, and getting to know your photographer, and him/her getting to know you.

we had epics done...it's a good chance to get familiar with your photographer and it's nice to have some professional casual shoots to use for STDs or a sign in board

Our photographer included this in his package. If It wasn't included, I would not have had them done.

It was included- we had to pay extra for the outdoor shots but I really wanted them...I didn't like that part. Even tho you have pro pics taken, take them again, as others said- it where you talk to your photographer and see how you work with them and for them to see how to work with you. It's a trial run for the wedding. If they aren't free I wouldn't do it, but from what I have seen they are...good luck!

we didn't really feel the need to take engagement shots when we first got engaged nearly 9 months ago...but the more and more i see them...i'm thinking of reconsidering!

We didn't. It wasn't included but our photog. was offering a good deal for them. Our engagement was 11 months and we may have done them if it was a longer engagement. I didn't see the necessity and it would have been hard to coordinate with my husband living and working in the city for most of our engagement. Also, I had to do a photo shoot with me alone, for a work project. So I felt like I had enough time in front of the camera.

It came free with our package, so we will take them. They will be studio shots, though. We don't want to pay extra to have them outside.

It came with our package, but honestly, I wouldn't have done it if that wasn't the case. That was the first time I ever heard of an engagement shoot.

But, very glad we did it. Couldn't have been happier. I recommend it.
