rude people!

can you believe that someone had the nerve to tell me FH isnt 'the one' for me??? my co-worker is like he isnt 'the one' and it will be over soon b/c he isnt here with you (in NY) now.

i am here and he is in Australia until my visa passes. he couldnt be with me b/c he just started a new job and airfare is thru the roof and more than we can afford right now. we have been apart for 7 months before last year and we did just fine. hey we got engaged.

i am just so mad that someone said that to me and he hasnt even met my FH and has only worked there a short time. i worked with him at another restaurant 10 years ago, but still....

***???

why are people so rude?

eta: *** means= what the eff???

Re: rude people!

That is rude! Seriously, certain people just do not censor themselves. Plus, that is an opinion that should NEVER be offered especially from a co-worker. If you think he is 'the one' then thats all that matters!

My father's girlfriends daughter (sorry thats complicated) made me feel so bad for choosing a December wedding. She just kept saying, 'its just a hard time of year for everyone, no one will want to go, you wont get as much money etc.' I was stunned. Given I know the holidays can be very stressful but its a wonderful time of year - especially when surrounded by your friends and family.

Some nerve!

Glad you vented - I need to too!

It's probably just sour grapes...there's no need for comments like that!! You and your FH are sacrificing now, you won't be the first or last couple to do so and it can make you stronger!!

To ZuzusPetals- great screen name!! and what your father's gf daughter said is wrong- from what I keep hearing is to do what the heck you want and if people really want to attend your wedding they will!!

You say 'wedding' and everyone has an opinion and everyone raises their prices!!

People are idiots - just ignore him. Unfortuantely you will probably run into a few more idiotic statements such as this before your day arrives.

ZuzusPetals, I heard that name in a movie once...I think it was that movie with Andrew Dice Clay...called the Adventures of Ford Fairlane or something like that.

WOW- people really comment on everything. I've heard a few ignorant statements about FH's background- he's Indian- they shut up when I tell them that he's Protestant but so what!?!

As for 2 year engagements- what is wrong with people! My MOH told me that she didn't believe in long engagements- probably why she married her DH after not even being with each other for a year!

Bottom line- do what you need to do and take advice from those who know and love you and ignore the morons!

Re: rude people!

What a jerk, I get that every now and then too because my FH has been working a contract in Alaska for the last year and I've only seen him a limited amount of time this year. We decided to sacrifice for the $ because we're moving to Seattle and buying a home in 2006. I think people like that are just jealous.

glad to knwo i am not the only one in this situation.

one of his comments was 'he is your soulmate' and should be with you at all times, if he loved you he would make an effort to be here with you, no matter the cost'

some people dont realise that love isnt the ONLY factor in a marriage. yes it is the underlying aspect, but i mean money plays a prety major role.
