I can't believe I forgot to post this! With 4 days until Christmas...UPDATE- SEE BELOW!

On Tuesday I went to my p/t job that I have been wanting to quit. I kept saying that I would give my notice after the HM. Well, I went in on Tuesday and was told that I would be laid off since they no longer needed 3 supervisors!

Needless to say I had mixed emotions. FH is thrilled because I have been somewhat reluctant to leave even though I needed to. However, I have accrued 38 hours of comp time that the agency will not pay me for and my director is giving me a hard time about taking the comp time! It isn't bad enough that you lay me off 4 days before Christmas and 3 weeks before my wedding! Now you don't want to give me my time and make me work a holiday? In my p/t job, everyone must work either Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, or New Year's Day. Working these days gives you comp time, since the rest of the agency is closed. She wants me to work New Year's Day for nothing- which I REFUSE to do, unless the agency pays me DOUBLE TIME like it should. We're short staffed that day but it's not MY problem- it's HERS! I wrote out a list of all my time yesterday (and even gave her the schedule so she could check my time) and informed her that because of all the time I have accrued, my last working day will be 12/27. I tried to call her before to discuss, but she was out of the office and I don't want her to 'slip out' before I call.

I am going to fight her tooth and nail on this subject. She tries to screw people out of time all of the time, and I will have no problem calling Employee Relations and letting them know what's going on. That is time that I earned and deserve to be given.

You have wanted out of there for so long. They should give you the time since you are entitled to it. I would keep calling her until you get an answer. At least you won't have to work late anymore!

If you can't get in touch with her, I would stick to your guns & make 12/27 your last day! What is she going to do??? You are entitled to it!

Well, I won!!!! She didn't even have the courtesy of telling me herself that my last day can be the 27th. But whatever, I have 2 more shifts to work and then I am done with them forever!!!

I just said to FH that I won't know what to do with myself with all this free time! We're going to have to have more GTGs so that I can have something to do!

OMG That's such crap! I can accrue comp time where I am but they're pretty good about letting us use it whenever we need to. I'm sorry they're being so mean to you!
