I'm so upset! Both hotels near my venue are booked for our wedding weekend!

I just called Holiday Inn Express (the new one, in Riverhead) and Best Western in Riverhead and they are both booked for my wedding weekend. I can't block anyone any rooms close by.

My next call tomorrow will be the Hampton Inn in Farmingville. Which, is not close but the next closest one to my venue.

What a bummer. Anyone else have this problem?

They are booked already!?!?! I haven't even started looking at hotels...I guess I better start making some phone calls.

That is crazy, I can't believe they are already booked. I went to the Hyatt near my venue and they were open for my weekend. They did tell me to book soon, since it is graduation weekend. Who is staying in Riverhead at the Holiday Inn Express in September

that really stinks! we blocked off 15 rooms for our wedding night at the holiday inn express in riverhead. the suite was already taken, but we can deal with that. hopefully you'll be able to book elsewhere without a problem. ~lacey

I believe it....I was calling around for hotels back in June and a few places were booked for my wedding in April.

Maybe there's some B&B's you can check into?

I was originally going with the Best Western in Riverhead - getting married at Giorgio's. I've since changed my mind and booked the Marriott in Islandia, which is 1/2 hr from Giorgio's (don't know how far it is from Vinyard) but I'm getting a bus to take my guest to and from the reception. IMO the Marriott is a much nicer hotel .........

Just an idea for another option..........

Plus they gave me a very decent price, much better than Best Western. FM me if you want price comparison.

I am sorry to hear that, I am actually getting married at the Vineyard Catereres 8/12, so I can completely relate. I figure that I have been to so many weddings where the hotels were not near by and people will stay wherever,it will all work out!

not only do i have the same problem, but it is with the EXACT same hotels! i ended up booking the marriott at the airport and the holiday inn by stony brook. i figure that most people will want to stay at b and b's anyway. please please FM me if you figure out a better solution!

I didn't as everyone stayed at the Best Western. I did see a Radison in Farmingville as well.

I booked at the Courtyard Marriott. I know that it is far from out east (where my wedding is), but all my guests are coming from the west, so it seems to work out for us. We couldn't really afford Eastwind, but we are really happy with the hotel we picked (even though it isn't right around the corner). Plus, they have a lot of nice perks, and the price is right!

I actually used hotels.com and they hooked me up with the Marriott Islandia. I'm telling you there are TONS of hotels out here if you don't mind traveling 1/2 or so to your venue.

Maybe there is some sort of festival out there or something?

I recommend the Hyatt in Hauppauge (obviously) but, there are a ton of hotels around that area. There's a Marriott, a Hilton Garden Inn and a ton of others.

If you are willing to have your guests stay further west, I can recommend the Hilton Garden Inn in Ronkonkoma. That is where my guests stayed (I also stayed there the night before) and it was excellent.

Maybe some of the smaller Bed and Breakfasts in Southold and Greenport will have vacancies? There is a motel called the Vineyard Motel (I think) in Jamesport. However, I don't know how nice it is.

My BM from Fox Hollow called me to book my block of rooms. He told me its filling quick and want to make sure the block is on hold. I cant believe 07 is filling up.

Eastwind is really nice, but VERY expensive (like $300 a night!)

they're probably making you nervous so you book with them as opposed to other hotels. hotels i called back in june couldn't even help me for my july 06 wedding until august because it was too early and the prices weren't in the system
