Did anyone pay for a parent album?

Hey ladies!
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!


We only had one parent album in our contract because of some negotiating we did, and now it is time to purchase one and I'm a little surprised at the price quote I got.

Did anyone pay a la carte (with any company) for a parent album (25 pics or so)? How much? Feel free to FM me.

We asked how much the parent album *would* be, because my parents refused to pay for my ILs album. We were told that ala carte the parents albums would be about $250.

We bought both our parents albums as a thank you, because they really helped us a lot. Each one was $500. About 30 photos in each. Our guy is expensive but heck, it's over now!

Included in our package...don't know the breakout, but both parents got an album with 24 pics.

we got ours in the package, but then we upgrated them so that cost money, but worth it.

Our parents album was included in our package and since my mom lives with us, there was no need for a second.

However, I made the digital books for myself and MIL and 3 grandmothers and they loved them SO much more then the pro-book. I bought it from Photoworks.com if you're interested

I needed a third parent album that I paid for separately and it was about $300 for 24 pics.

We paid for them, our gift to them. They were about $400 each. I think its a nice thing to do.

For DH's dad we bought one. It's 18 5x7 photos for $295.

We bought the parents albums with our package, but since its Silverfox, everything is a la carte. You can check their website for prices, since I really have no clue as to how much their albums cost. www.silverfoxvideo.com

For Christmas I ordered my Grandma an album from Kodakgallery.com and was pleased with the end result. And it only cost around $40 However, I will say its more of a text book look than a true photo album, ie its pictures printed onto a glossy page, not actual photographs put into an album.

If you think the photog's price is too high, why don't you make one on your own through shutterfly or Kodak.

Ours cost $350 each. There was an option for $250 (flush photos), but we decided to go with a more traditional framed photo (not sure if that is the correct term).

In retrospect, we probably could have gotten a nice enough album for them through shutterfly, and I've heard great things about shutterfly, though the one my sister did a few years ago through Kodak is getting yellow already. Defintely ask about the quality of the album if you use another service and you want your album to last for years.

Our photographer wanted I think she quoted me 300 for 18 5x7 photos for an extra parent album so DH just got his dad a portfolio of 5 pics, 1 side an 8x10 and then 4 4x6's on the other side, that cost 100.
