Which do you prefer....

VERSION 1

The Honour of your Presence is requested
as the children of
Mr. & Mrs. John Smith and
Mr. & Mrs. Ted Jones

Karina
&
Mark

begin their new life together
when they exchnage vows of marriage
on Saturday the 25th of March

OR

Version 2

The Honour of your presence is requested
at the marriage uniting
daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Smith

Karina
&
Mark

son of Mr. & Mrs. Ted Jones
Saturday the 25th of March

PLEASE PLEASE let me know opinions or if there are any other suggestions. Keep in mind that we are paying for the wedding but we want to include our parents name on the invite. TIA GIRLS!!!!

the second one just seems kind of awkward to me. Also, I like how the first one puts your parents on an equal footing. That to me is important, even though my parents are paying, because it truly is his wedding too, which makes it just as important for his family as it is for mine. I know that's not necessarily the tradition, but I don't always agree with tradition anyway.
