Spinoff: is FI inviting the Dads to his bachelor party??

My FI is inviting his Dad and my Dad to his bachelor party in Montreal, and my Dad is going!!! Is this common?

Yes, FI gets along with my parents really well. But, my Dad can get kind of crazy too, so I don't know how safe it is going to be with him there

Well my father has passed on but I know FH's father is NOT invited to the bachelor party. My brother and brother in law are so I will actually have spies since the BP had to be rescheduled and relocated to NY.

I don't know how common it is in America but it definitely is in England. Also in England the guys don't do a night they do a weekend or a week. I think Andrew is going to do something in England or in South America, and yes, my father is going (so he says at this point in time)

My FH is trying to do the Vegas thing and intends on having both dads there.
Not sure if common, depends on the person.

I think its cool your dad and his dad are both laid back enough to join in the bachelor party. My FFIL isn't going to my FH party. Hes not the type and his wife would kill him.

No way are moms invited to the bachelorette party, or dads to the bachelor party. The bachelor party is in Canada, and I think my FMIL and mom would feel totally out of place at my bachelorette party. They are not city people.

My dad is not around but my FH's father is going. He's kinda crazy too so I think he'll be babysitting his dad so his mom won't get mad!!!

so funny this thread is alive again...

since I posted this, my Dad is NOT going to Montreal...my Mom told him he would have a heart attack trying to keep up with all the 'young guys', which is probably true.

I wish my Mom would have spoken up. She can't say anything though b/c she's coming FL w/us. But there sure will be a difference in activities!

The funny thing is that my 30 yr old brother is more annoyed that my Dad is going than my FH.

I'm not sure if FH is inviting the dad's to his OOT bachelor party with his friends (well, inviting his dad I should say) but, he's planning on having a bachelor night out in NYC as well so my dad and my cousins and whomever else wants to can go.

As for my bachelorette party, I'm hoping to have one OOT and one in NYC as well so the moms and my aunts and my cousin in the BP can come. Like a nice dinner and possibly a scavenger hunt or something family oriented.
