Past Duet Brides: Question
My FH and I went in to see Duet today and absolutely fell in love with their work. My FH is concerned that there may be language issues the day of the wedding? Has any past brides experienced this, or is he being silly? The man we sat down with today was pretty was understandable, but we did not meet any of the photographers. Also, who are good photographers to request. Thanks

Re: Past Duet Brides: Question
There are a TON of brides that have used Duet (I booked them too). You can find their reviews of the day of the wedding on the brides review board. In regards to the photographer I think they are all good, you just have to select the style you want based on the albums you review when you meet with them. We liked Sam's style, but other girls liked Jay's, etc.. its really a decision that should be made by you and your FH to make sure you capture the look you are after.

Re: Past Duet Brides: Question
Yeah, there's a slight lanuage barrier, but nothing significant that made us feel it would be a problem. We had Sam for our epics and our communication with him was fine, he was great with direction and we were ecstatic about our pix. Eric, the owner, does have slighly less of a command of the English language, but I think he runs the show, does the editing, etc. Your photogs should be fine. And their work speaks for itself. If you have a quetion you need to call the office for, speak to Sue.

Re: Past Duet Brides: Question
I was concerned about this too, I asked Eric in a nice way, and he said all the photographers speak english really well so I won't have a problem communicating with them.

Re: Past Duet Brides: Question
We used Duet (Jay's team.) They speak english well enough to the point where it is not a barrier. They are incredibly nice and were completely out of the way of the wedding & the reception. Everyone loved them. We picked up our proofs last Friday and our biggest problem now is choosing 75-80 out of the 700 they gave us for our album. They came out awesome!!!

Calvin was one of the photographer's on Jay's team for our wedding. He was very nice and took some great shots. We requested Jay because we loved his book. He lead the team for us and did a fantastic job.

Re: Past Duet Brides: Question
I used Alberto, Gio and Woo. Alberto speaks perfect english and basically instructed me on what to do the entire day. I don't think you have anything to worry about. If it makes you feel more comfortable maybe you can meet with your photograher a few months prior to the wedding so if your not happy you can ask for a different one.Good luck

Re: Past Duet Brides: Question
We had the same concern, but after our engagement session with Woo, we are no longer concerned. We chose our photographers based on the books we liked. we went through all the books and pulled all the ones we fell in love with. It happened that it was Woo's work. he was available for us and we booked him.
He is great. He's young and very excited with his work. I very much liked that. Nothing is worse than somebody that you can tell is 'working'. he seems to not look at his job as a job. it seems to be a passion for him. If it's not, he sure is a great actor!!!
I suggest going through the books again and seeing what you like and taking it from there.
I wouldn't worry about the language though. It will be fine.
