We are putting 'Reception following the seaside ceremony' on the invitation so people know it's right afterwards and to wear a warm jacket

Re: Brides having your ceremony and reception in the same place...
I did not to do a reception card. On the invitation we put the date and the name of the coutry club and the time. We know most people assume that when the invitation calls for 7pm most people assume ceremony and then reception to follow.Do you think i made a mistake?

I don't know, I did the same thing, which is why I'm debating, should I get a seperate reception card to go with my invite, since I forgot to include reception immediately following ceremony on invite.

We were thinking of reception to immediately follow but I think its a great idea to write cocktail hour and reception immediately to follow instead. Someone had people at the wedding stuffing themselves during cocktail hour because they thought that was the reception.

Not at all. One would hope it would be obvious.
BTW, I went to a wedding at Cherry Valley almost exactly 2 years before yours - Rob-Luvs-Me's wedding. One of the best I've ever attended. You're in good hands there.
