RP BHB-Dress is In, Tried it on Last Night

No pics, sorry. Mainly because I don't like the way I look in it. I'm down a while size from when I ordered it (15 lbs) and I feel so LARGE in it. I love, love, love, my dress, it's beautiful and I liked it on me in person, but in the pics we took, I look huge.

Did any of you feel the same way when you first tried your gown on for the first time? I expressed my feelings that I think the skirt is so full it makes me look big, and evryone told me the skirt will go down a lot b/c it hasn't been pressed and the tulle underneath is all bunchy....

Anyone else have this happen to them?

YES!!! When I tried my dress on for the first time, I didn't like the way it looked...I felt I looked too big in it! But the last time I tried it on (Nov) I was so much happier & now it is perfect!!!

post a pic of it again (just the manuf. one) I'd like to see it. I don't think you should worry about 'looking bigger' I don't think anyone would let you buy a dress that did not flatter you. I think it's just nerves sweetie. You are going to look gorgeous!

Thanks Jess..... My Mom got so upset when I told her how I felt. She doesn't understand why I think this.....'Why did you buy the dress if you didn't like it? You loved it when we bought it?'

That's the thing. I LOVED it on me when we bought it. It's probably just the nerves, as you said. I've been snapping at everyone lastely.......

The dress is beautiful. It's a full skirt so it's just an illusion that you look big.

ohhhh, the butt looking bigger syndrome!!! My dress is a good one for that!! whenever I get into it, I want to sing 'baby got back'

Trust me, it is just something that we 'think' but is not true!!!

Although I have not gone to try my actual dress on yet (grrrr)... I have heard more than a few brides who have lost weight say they didn't likethe way their dress looked on them when it first came in. After the fittings they were much happier and loved their dress all over again!
Don't worry!!! The dress is beautiful and I am sure you are absolutely gorgeous in it!

I would love to see how you looked in it You have a gorgeous gown and I'm sure you looked stunning!

When I went to see mine, although it was big on me, I still felt in the pics that I looked like a tasty lemon meringue (sp?!) pie! But I don't care.. it's my gown, I love it.. and I just remember that FH is taking all of me- big butt and all!

I don't know, but I do think it's unfair that guys can lose their 'beer belly's ' just by cutting back a little! They lose weight so easy and it's noticeable right away.

That dress is gorgeous. It does what ballroom gowns are supposed to do. I bet its nerves talking and upsetting you. Though I honestly forgot about some aspects of my dress when I tried it on. It was very wrinkled because it hadn't been steamed yet and that irked me. I forgot it had TWO trains. Then of course my mother had to say, in her infinite wisdom as if I wasn't already a basket case 'Ya know the dress makes your a$$ stick out.' Gee thanks mom. The dress has ONE layer of fabric. Did she think I'd be able to hide it? Besides, FH likes my a$$.

Jill, my skirt is full too, and I am counting on the fullness of my skirt for two things: to COVER my big butt, and nip my waist in further, making me look EVEN SMALLER. that is what is going to happen here. people will assume all of the fullness comes from the skirt, and that you and your tiny waisted self are just the picture of beauty under all of those layers of tulle.
