PEOPLE HAVE NERVE!!!

PEOPLE HAVE NERVE!!!

I mailed out my wedding invitations, and we did invite FMIL first cousins, per her request, we have no problem with that.

However we get the response back, and not only did the first cousins put themselves on the response card, but their 23 year old son, AND a guest...I just think that is so balsy, we couldn't believe it. We would have invited them separately if they were invited...DUH!!!!!

We aren't gonna say anything, just let them come, but I just think that's terrible to assume we can accommodate them, we don't even know them....Thanks for listening to my VENT..GRRR

You know, everytime I see one of these posts, I keep thinking to myself, none of my guests would do that... but I am sure you didn't think they would do it either!! You are totally right, some people do have nerve! I can't understand it, I would never do something like that.

You are such a bigger person than I am. I would definitely say something, and LOUDLY. I would tell either FI or FMIL, 'You handle this'. I'm such a biotch...

oh yeah... its amazing, isn't it?! this happened to us, too... my mom wanted us to invite her friend from high school who has never been married and is not dating anyone seriously... so we just sent the invite with her name on it, she sent back the response card with '2 people will attend'... its like its 2 people were invited, there would have been 2 names on the invitation! the LEAST these people could have done would be to call you before they sent back the thing and said ' would it be possbile if our son could come?' to give you a heads up! you don't just go adding people to the guest list! craziness!
but, of course we did the same thing you did- just sucked it up and didn't say anything.... i guess you just have to take as you're the better person

That's sooo rude!!!! I invited my uncle 'and family', and when my grown cousin wanted to take a long-term girlfriend, my uncle called me first....

I KNOW that people on my side, or should I say my parents side will do this. And no matter how much my mom begs and pleads this will not happen. If they start inviting themselves she WILL have to call them and uninvite them. NO WAY will I allow this.

That really is nervy. You would think people know better?!?! I would say something, if not to them, at least to your FMIL. If not seriously at least make a joke out of it, just to let them know what they did. I wouldn't let that go....

My FMIL is willing to call and say something, I just hate causing family drama...I am not quite sure why this cousin would want to come anyway, he doesn't know us. but whatever

FH brother got married 2 years ago with same invite list, and did not have this problem..beats me. I will just deal with it.

But really...I gotta stop being such a pushover and go to B*tch school...GRRR

this is y on my response i think i am going to put like 2 seats are reserved for yadda yadda to avoid that problem. I cannot deal with that!!!
