Ricky gave me a Gift Certificate to Cavali Tonuzi in Bay Ridge (Brooklyn), so I'm going to try them out for a hair trial tomorrow morning at 9am!

UPDATE:

COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT...I called three times before the appointment to confirm and let them know that I'm bringing hair attachments w/glue to use and need to know how much everything would cost - approximately. This is one of those 'high-end' salons that feels the need to pamper you but charge you an effing arm and a leg, and I wanted to be prepared. I digress...

I show up at 8:58 for my 9:00 appointment, and all the staff and other appointments are standing outside the salon b/c no one has the key (wrong #1.)

Finally around 9:25 someone shoes up with the key and we're let in. I meet my stylist, Lisa, who's very sweet, and HONEST and tells me that she doesn't know how to apply the extensions, but will introduce me to Antonella who does. I meet Antonella, she knows how to use extensions, but usually makes her own w/clips to use, and suggested I give her the hair I had with me, she'll attach clips to them, and then will pass me back to Lisa for the style. Unfortunately, the hair pieces will not be ready for another three days, and I'll have to come back (not bad right?)

So, I pack my 'ish' up and go to the receptionist to reschedule my appointment, where I am BOMBARDED by maybe the manager, Lisa, Antonella, and the receptionist with questions - when's the wedding, who do I want, when's the trial, we need a credit card to secure both dates, we need a deposit for the extensions....blah blah blah blah....I tell them all to HOLD A MOMENT, answer my ONE question, and then I'll answer all of theirs....My question - 'I NEED TO KNOW HOW MUCH ALL OF THIS COST ME APPROXIMATELY......'

GET THIS ISH:

It will cost $250 to make the extensions and put them in.

It will cost THE LEAST $175 for the hairstyle.

IT WOULD BE $425 for the TRIAL and then again for the DAY OF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I told them they can take their $850 and shove it, I'm going with someone else and LEFT.

THE NERVE charging me TWICE for the hair extensions like that - and they're going to be on CLIPS?????? Had they have to be applied with glue both times, and then removed both times, I wouldn't think anything of it...BUT EFFING CLIPS?????????

If you need a recommendation for someone who uses extensions I highly recommend you try Tamara at the Damien West Salon in manhattan she is amazing her web site is www.wigoutworld.com she is $300 or so day of maybe more with extensions you shoud definitely call her she was so amazing with me that i made her my regulsr stylist! AIf you have any questions just let me know
