Wedding Dresses

How many of you already have your wedding dress? I'm going to a Jasmine trunk show on Jan 20th and I already tried on 1 jasmine dress that I really love so I think I definately am going to get that dress. Do you think it's to early to order? I was going to wait until the spring to look but I was bored one day and went with my mom and found two dresses I love. AHHHH what to do

Your wedding is right after mine. I fell in love with a Lazaro dress in the new spring 2006 collection. It will be in the bridal store in carle place in February. I'll probably order by then or start getting a replica made (if I can't afford my pretty ) maybe in August. If you are going with a bridal store. I'd def. order if you are ready.

I picked the first gown I tried on. My mom and I went to just look in October, and we ended up buying it. Not too early at all. At least I don't think so. They order it now through the manufacturer, but it won't come for a while, or a few months before the wedding.Especially since mine was being discontinued in Janurary. I'm happy it's out of the way though!! It's exciting. I look at pictures of it all the time.

I found mine back in Feb. I went to go look with my friends and i found a dressed i loved. it is an old style from spring 2004 but i just love it. I saw some new dresses but nothing compares to "the one" I was just lucky to have found one earlier and I stopped my quest. I know the new lines came out or coming out and you will have sooooooo much fun trying them on!

Our wedding isn't until next July (2007) and my mom & I went to David's Bridal just to look around. I thought it was going to take me months to find the perfect dress (was I wrong).Anyway I picked out like six dresses to try on & the first dress I tried on I knew it was the one. All the other dresses were nice but I had doubts. So I ended up on buying the dress . It's going to take 20 weeks for them to get it in because they didn't have my size (I'm a size 0) the smallest size they had was a 6.

From what I hear you should start looking 6 months before your wedding. It is too early for me so I will wait till like September.

I actually already ordered my dress in September. I was just looking but I fell in love with my dress. The bridal salon keeps the dress until your wedding day in a temperature controlled room so you don't have to worry about it discoloring or finding storage for it. Whenever you find the dress you love, just order it. JMO.

I dont think its too early-if you love it then I would definitely get it...Ive just been slacking in the dress department-otherwise I would probably already have mine!

i put a deposit on my dress in january 2004... when i thought i was getting married in june of 2006

Not to early to order at all - if you love it, go for it!

The one thing i do kind of regret though is not trying on more dresses after i chose mine (i only tried on 6).

Don't get me wrong, i love my dress, and wouldn't change a thing, but i kind of feel like i jipped myself through some of the experience of dress shopping by choosing so quick.

I didn't go looking yet because I want to loose some weight first like 20 pounds.. so as of well tomorrow i'm back on my diet in a big way and then i'm going to go dress hunting in the spring prob round april or may. That's a year before anyways so it works out. But if you see something you love know there's no real reason to wait. Have fun!

I fell in love with the second dress I tried on. However, the woman in the store was really nice and informative and said that there is no rush to order (i am getting married in Feb. 07)... since it is an 2005 dress I have until March to order...that should give me about 3 months to lose the 15 pounds i need to!!

if you're not sure if they will still have it---ask! a reputable store will be able to tell you how long the designers will make the dresses and when you need to order by.

Also, i see a lot of people on here talking about david's bridal. i have heard HORROR stories about that place.... a friend of mine, they completely ruined her dress... she had to get the dress shortened like most people do (because apparently designers think we're all 5'11) and they did it completely lopsided only about 2 weeks before her wedding. I have also heard stories of people not having their bridesmaid dresses until a week before with no time for alternations and of them messing up shoe orders. i've heard from people that if you're going to get your dress there do it way in advance because they are always late and DO NOT get your alterations done there because they will botch it up...

i'm not trying to completely bash the place, but those are just my experiences and those of my friends!

Me and enjft going to Reem Acra trunk show january 12th. IMO if you get that feeling like its the one it does not matter besides I've been told from more than one bridal store that it takes 6-8 months for dresses to come in so 2006 is the latest collection we can get as early half of 2007 brides.
