gift for a bridal shower?

I am purchasing a gift for one of my very close friends whose bridal party i am in. My question is how much are you expected to spend on a gift for a bridal shower. I am just curisous what the average is.

i was in my fsil bp and ithe bp each chipped in 100 towards a large gift. since i was not paying towards the shower, i also ordered chocolate lollipops. For an avg. person i spend aroudn 50-75, so jmo i would say at least 100.
