Wedding Photo Album Question...
Okay, so I have been looking at different photographers and I see that the new type of album they are all offering is the Soho Coffee Table Album, which is a more contemporary type album, kinda a magazine layout. Of course if you choose that over a classic album it is more money, like around 800 -1000 more. Do any of your photographers offer this type of album and are you choosing that type of album? For ladies that are already married, do you have this type of album and do you think it is worth it?My friend is telling me to go for it because she said probably in a few years that is what photographers will be offering and I will regret not having an 'up-to-date' album.
If you go to this link, it is an ex. of a Soho Album

Re: Wedding Photo Album Question...
That is the exact type of album I am getting. It is just like a magazine. There are no actual photos, everything is digital, and we get to keep the proofs so we can have an album with the actual photos as well. I think you should consider it.

Re: Wedding Photo Album Question...
My husband wants that and we are going for it. The album is bound differently, so even though you can have more pcitures, your book is not so huge and heavy. I think that the heavy books will look old in a few years. HTH

Re: Wedding Photo Album Question...
I made a coffeetable book for my mom and step dad when they got married in November. It's not expensive to do it yourself so I'll do ours when we get the CD of our pics.

Re: Wedding Photo Album Question...
We're going to my photographer's today to choose the album. we chose the digital (or soho) album b/c 1. you can have multiple pictures on a page and 2. it's modernyes it is more $$ but IMO SO WORTH IT!!!!!!! I have seen layouts that many brides have posted on here and they are stunning! if you're going to splurge on something, it might as well be on something you will have forever!

If you don't mind me asking which photographer offered the digital album for your parents. Was it a lot extra?

Re: Wedding Photo Album Question...
this is a good question. I'm unsure about this as well. I originally liked the 10x10 flush, but now I'm hearing those are outdated.

Re: Wedding Photo Album Question...
Actually, I wanted the old fashioned album. The photo albums with mats have been 'in style' for 100+ years. IMO, these are classic and will never look outdated.Go with what ever you think suits your and your FH style the best, not what your friend thinks you'll want in a few years.

Re: Wedding Photo Album Question...
If you go for classic does that mean 8 x 10 with border or 10x10 flush.

I got the traditional album (which includes some 8x10s with a border, some 10X10 flush, some 5X7s, some 4x6s, etc.) I absolutely agree with agailunas. Everyone was trying to convince me to get the 'magazine' album because it was 'cool', but I knew that I was more of a traditional album type of girl.

With me, I really do like the digital albums, but I feel like some of the overlapping pictures, and double pictures of similar things are distracting to my eye.
