Re: Glen Island Harbor Club
my cousin had her reception there. It was beautiful!!I just remember that every time I put down my napkin, some waiter was right there folding it again. It got to be a game, me and FH were undoing the napkins and waiting to see how long it would take for them to fix them. Yeah...we were just a little bored because of the band, but that had nothing to do with the venue.
It was great, that is a good choice.

Re: Glen Island Harbor Club
I agree with the ladies on this one. Glen Island is awesome. It is very elegant, great water views, excellent food and service. My cousin got married there, three years ago and it has been the best wedding that I have been to. I am from Westchester and that would have been my first choice, but as I said my cousin got married there, so I didn't want to have my wedding the same place as her.

Re: Glen Island Harbor Club
My cousin got married there three years ago and it was a great wedding. The food was amazing and sheer quantity of it was unbelievable. I think that more than one wedding go on there at a time, but you would never know it. We figured that out at the very end of the night! The only thing negative, was that i was inthe bp and we took pics right down the road and the place for pics was yucky. Just find a nice spot for your pics ahead of time bc my cousin left it up to the photographer.

I got married there in July and I can't say enough wonderful things about them. Besides the fact that they went above and beyond for us in every way, Glen Island also has so many fantastic spots to take pictures. There are many more details/pictures in my review: REVIEW

Re: Glen Island Harbor Club
I went to see glen island harbour club two weeks ago
and was abit disappointed in the package they offer.
the location is beautiful and the site is nicely decorated
if you like the modern look.
However, I find a few things a turn-off. It gave me a wedding factory corporate feel to it. They require you to use 1 of the 2 of the house florist (typically 75-200 per centerpiece), they won't budge on price when I said my family doesn't need premium bar or any bar for that matter (we don't drink), and they only allow you 3 choice of entrees (chicken, beef, salmon) and everything else is extra.
There's also only 8 cake style to choose from and they are expensive at 150 for peak night and 110 for peak afternoon weddings. That's before taxes and gratuities! The guy also said you typically tip the staff 400-500 on top of the 18% service fee. Excuse me, but I'll tip them if they do an exceptional job, NOT because everyone is tipping them. Besides what the
heck is the 18% gratuities for?
:P

:P
They may have changed the menu options since I booked (way back in January '04!
) but, although they did offer chicken, beef, or fish, it was offered in a number of different ways: Char-roasted Sliced Chateaubriand
Tuscan Chicken
Chicken Mignon
Chicken Sorrentino
Wild Mushroom Stuffed Chicken
Black Sesame Glazed Salmon
Shrimp Scampi
Grilled Swordfish
Surf & Turf
Sweet Potato Crusted Red Snapper
ETA: The cake thing was an issue though because in addition to the limited flavors, their baker does not work with fondant icing and I absolutely needed fondant icing to get the cake I wanted. So I had to use an outside baker.
