Travel agents- need help planning anniversary trip
For our 1 year anniversary my husband and I are planning a long weekend away and need some help. Dates: 4/1/06-4/4/06. We want to keep to the Caribbean or Cancun - don't want to be in the air for any more then 5 hrs tops. We are looking for an all inclusive in the general price range of $300-$400/nt, ideally adult only, but at the very least a resort that doesn't cater to families or spring breakers. I admit to being a travel snob... We went to Royal Hideaway for our Honeymoon and it will be hard to go anywhere else! We're not partiers, don't need anything on the entertainment front and generally like to keep to ourselves on vacation. We want somewhere with good service, beautiful grounds and quality drinks and food. Most importantly, it needs to be somewhere romantic.
Because the trip will only be 4 days long, we want a resort that is close to an airport (nothing more then a 30 minute trip) and to stay in a local where the flight times are convenient and will allow us a maximum amount of time to spend vacationing (don't want to arrive late at night or have to leave first thing in the morning on our last day). Airfare isn't a consideration as we have frequent flier miles that can be used.
Based on our research we think the best bang for our buck is Cancun. The Le Blanc Spa and Resort looks right up our alley, but since I last priced it out, the rates went up to ~$450/nt. Would love to see if a lower rate could be found. My husband has nixed the Dominican Republic as an option, b/c last time we were there it took forever to get from the airport to the hotel.
Sorry this is so long, but we have a good idea of what we want - just don't know where to find it. Hopefully, someone can help us out. Thanks in advance!!
