woodbury/jericho turnpike brides..hotel reccs.

I am exploring rates at the executive inn and best western located on jericho turnpike. We plan to reserve rooms in the Inn at Fox Hollow, but would like to reserve in two places to give people a choice, since the FH is $$$.

Does anyone have any rants/raves they would like to share?????

Thanks

Re: woodbury/jericho turnpike brides..hotel reccs.

My friends stayed at the Best Western recently for a wedding at the Woodlands and weren't impressed.

The couple actually had blocked rooms at the Homewood Suites in Melville (Round Swamp Rd).

ETA: The Homewood Suites were really nice, they opened less than a year ago.

Look through the Brides' Review and on the Fox Hollow Thread...a few brides have reviewed all three of those hotels.

I only booked the Inn at Fox Hollow b/c it was most convenient, and I didn't want to be responsible for the rooms that I blocked that didn't get filled.

We reserved at the Wingate Inn in Garden City. You can also look into the Holiday Inn and the Residence Inn, both on Old County Rd. in Westbury.

Thanks chris... the problem with the FH Inn is that i would be responsible if a certain amount doesn't book....i think our families will probably stay at the FH..but my crazy friends will want some place that will not tame them and will be cheaper!!!

Re: woodbury/jericho turnpike brides..hotel reccs.

I think there is an Executive Inn that's nearby as well, that a LIW bride used and had a good experience with. It's not too far from the Fox Hollow Inn, I believe.

ETA:: Sorry, I just saw that it was one you were looking into already! I'm not really sure of any others that are that close.

Re: woodbury/jericho turnpike brides..hotel reccs.

I blocked rooms off at the Executive Inn and had no complaints from my guests...granted the rooms were just hotel rooms, not suites and they weren't luxurious, but they were clean, comfortable and honestly for the amount of time people spent in the rooms, they were perfectly priced. FM me if you want more info.

Re: woodbury/jericho turnpike brides..hotel reccs.

I got married in Decemeber at the Woodbury Country Club and we used the Holiday Inn in Plainview. I would HIGHLY recommend them. I ended up with 30 rooms booked that night which was a lot more than I had expexted. When the reception was over everyone that was staying in the hotel hung out on the couches in the lobby for hours. My parents went to 7 11 for coffee and we had the desserts left from the wedding and no one complained at all. We also stopped off there before the reception and they let us take many pictures in their main lobby.

The service there was great. They let me drop off my out of town bags 2 days before and they handed them out to everyone. Every time I called there they were extremely nice and helpful.

Always ask if they will give you a AAA discount on top of your current discount. It worked for my friends wedding.

Re: woodbury/jericho turnpike brides..hotel reccs.

I blocked rooms at the Four Points Sheraton - right off the LIE. It is brand new inside and there is a small bar in the lobby so my friends wont get kicked out out of their rooms for being too noisy!
