How did you ask your MOH and BMs to be in your wedding?

My girls are in different states so that may be a problem...I need some ideas! Thanks!

I asked each one when I told them I was engaged, but then i sent cute little cards asking them to be my bridesmaid.

I would do the cute little bridesmaid cards, the ones with the dresses on the front. I like that idea.

i made them 'Will you be my BM/MOH?' gift bags. they were filled with pens, notebook, manicure kit, chocolate, and asprin!! lol i also put a little personalized gift (like a key chain with their name on it) and printed out a cute poem on stationery.

I made those cute little cards and I put that poem in there with a plush bridesmaid bear in a pink bag with pink tissue paper- everything was pink to go with the theme

I didn't - they just sort of knew.

It's pretty obvious - my sister and my best friend. It didn't really take a lot of guess work. We would just be talking and I'd be like 'and we'll get you a nice potato sack for a bridesmaids dress, don't worry, it will be really sexy and only cost like 5k' and then move on. So, they just knew.

It didn't even occur to me to do something more elaborate than to just plain old ask until I started reading these wedding websites.

I have 2bm and 1 moh in Philly, and 2 bm and a second moh on LI, so I wanted to ask them all in the same way, and since I wouldn't be seeing the philly girls in person, i made them all little cards and wrote a note on the back, in which I asked them to be in the wedding. They all loved it! :o)

I haven't asked yet but I think I'll do the card thing- very cute! I want to wait until about a year before-a few people I know recommened this because they made quick choices and regretted it because it was so far before their wedding!

I've been itching to tell all my girls but my mother warned me against this for the same exact reason...if u change your mind a few months down the line it's hard to retract your invitation. so i'm gonna try to zip my mouth shut until july

I was thinking about waiting until I'm a year away also but I have friends that appear to be 'waiting' for me to ask...I think I might tell my family members that I'm asking first and wait a little bit longer to decide on the friends...

this happened to me. I asked my girls to be my BM's back in 2003 and I havent been talking to 3 of them since, and I hear they are moving PLUS I didnt really think financially where I was at with the whole wedding. Now I kept of my 3 of my original BM's (sister, FH's sister and best friend), and added FH's best man's soon to be fiancee (who I talk to often).

My girls all new... they would be in my wedding - I keep a SMALL circle of friends!!!

I haven't asked all my bridesmailds yet..but I made cards for some of them and for my MOH I put a poem in a frame and bought her these bears that are scrapbooking.....Here is a pic

I asked my best friend even before I was engaged. They are also in different states so I called them. We are all close so a phone call was sufficient

Im gonna wait for a year - FH husband wanted to do it now ... but his mom and my mom both told us it was too early - so 6 more mths and they will know - plus it gives FH time to think overr his freinds - and if he sticks to the 3 he chose - iM gonna have to recruit a girl!!!

I created a PhotoStory. It started out with pictures of us, then pictures of our engagement, then pictures of Coindre Hall. I then proceeded with pictures of the Maid of Honor and Best man, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and then the kids in the wedding. At the end, I asked if they would take part in our wedding. I mailed each one out and waited for their phone calls.
