I am thinking of changing the material for my bm dresses...need opinions/advice

I fell in love with the colors on the cover of a Brides magazine (photo below) I search hi and low to find the fabric in the two rich pink and blue fabrics you see. I finally found them- with one clitch- they are silk charmeuse, which is pricy and not always figure flattering.

thinking that the material would not flatter my girls, I found another pink and aqua in a different color. they are nice, but I have not been crazy about them from the beginning- the are brighter and not the deeper jewel tone I am looking for.

I have been thinking about the other material, and I know those are the colors I want. my dressmaker said with lining and the proper undergarments my girls should look fine (it's not a very shiny charmeuse). I already bought the other material ($288) but I am tempted to just eat the loss and have my girls purchase the original material that I love.

what would you girls do?

one thing first, have you been to Mood Fabrics?

http://www.moodfabrics.com/indexFlash.html

ETA - because I was there 1 week ago and I never saw so much fabric in my life. Apparently is THE place to go in NYC.

seriously, I would check out that one other place before you scrap plans and go with something you are less than thrilled with. Only because I know they have a lot of stuff and they are renowned in the industry. They are in the same building as Bari Jay, Lazaro, and someone else I can't think of. They tape that Heidi Klum designer show there sometimes. Also the staff is super helpful so print up that pic and bring it with you - I really think it will be worth it.

Yes, go to Moods. That is 'the place'...and my mom wanted me to marry Seth, the owner's son.

Anyway, I agree, they have every fabric you can think of...it's insane.

As for the material, as long as it is lined, I agree, it's fine. Don't 'eat' anything yet, although the fact that you say the colors are brighter (and thus not htat gorgeous jewel tone) worries me a bit...wait and see if you find something else, then go from there. I'm sure you will. Good luck!
