Help..Need GREAT Officiant!Tell me who!

Hi again ladies..probably sounds like a stupid question, but does anyone know of or have an officiant who they know did a good job with a ceremony? We are both Catholic and we are most likely getting married at our recption site(believe it or not, we still cant make up our mind...church or reception site)...but it is so important to us that the ceremony is just perfect...especially after we have been to some weddings where the ceremony seemed like it was a bit blah. Ok, thank you!

Re: Help..Need GREAT Officiant!Tell me who!

If you're both catholic, do you have a priest or deacon you like?

If now, Pastor April from Church of the Ancient Ways is great. We saw her at the last WOTY, and she really made the ceremony relaxed, fun and special. If we didn't need to have a priest and a rabbi for family reasons, we'd probably go with her.

Father Joe, he's a Giorgio's recommended vendor. He's great, FM me if you want details. We're using him in June and we've had our initial meeting to set up ceremony, his recommendations were perfect.

Re: Help..Need GREAT Officiant!Tell me who!

If you are both Catholic why wouldn't you be getting married at your church or your FI's church? A Roman Catholic priest in good standing will not marry two Catholics outside of the church. Your marriage will not be recognized by the church if you have the ceremony at your hall officiated by someone else.

Father Tom McCormick - He's a vendor on here. He will tailor the ceremony anyway you would like it. He is a fabulous man and a fabulous speaker. I cannot say enough great things about him.

Here's one of my favorite pics of him at our ceremony.

We are using Reverand Mike Callahan - he is very laid back, easygoing and super nice. I have also heard great things about Father Tom Mccormick.

Good luck!

Re: Help..Need GREAT Officiant!Tell me who!

if you wanna have a marriage that is officially recognized by the catholic church--you MUST be married inside a church. no officially recognized Catholic priest will marry you outside a church.

if you chose not to go this route and get married in the hall--i would HIGHLY recommend our officiant: Rev. Angela Heil, she is just amazing! when you visit with her, you'll understand. her presentation is fantastic and she makes you feel right at home.

her rates are quite reasonable! Check her website out, and give her a call. She's very popular so try and call soon!

We too are using Fr Joe. He is amazing. He's a catholic priest & my fi is even receiving communion. He's the house recommended clergy at Giorgio's.

Re: Help..Need GREAT Officiant!Tell me who!

Thanks so much for all the info..There seems to be some confusion. Yes, i would LOVE to get married in a Catholic church, but i cant. My FH and I are both Catholic, BUT he is divorced, which I guess I forgot to mention in my original mail. Therefore , although we are both Catholic, we are unable to get married in a Catholic church, due to the fact that he is divorced -This is why i was asking for officiants who would marry us...But i will look into the officiants that you all metioned, any other officiants who you know are recommended would also be a big help. Thanks!
