Four Years Ago Today

I was at my old job and I was extremely nervous.

It was exactly four months since 9/11 and I had decided in the Fall to stop eating carbs, lose some weight, start taking chances and living my life. I took the GRE this month to prepare to go to Grad School and I took a long hard look at my life.

I was at a party the week before and a friend said to me.... 'I have a great guy for you.' Never one for blind dates, I was unsure but I gave her my cell phone and told her to pass it along.

So here I was on January 11, 2002 at work, wearing the same boots I am wearing today... and I was talking to my friends about this blind date I was going on. They couldn't believe that I didn't know what he looked like!

I left work early and met my colleagues for a drink at the neighborhood bar. I ended up doing a few shots to calm my fears. I got a call on my cell and I was LATE! About 1/2 hour late to my BLIND DATE! And slightly drunk too!

I went running to the Mercury Bar and Grill (Westside) and there he was waiting outside, asking every girl if they were 'Lisa'....

He asked me over dinner... 'Can you imagine yourself getting married in the next five years?' I lied and said, 'Definitely'

The rest, as they say, is history.

Kiss your FH's today in honor of my anniversary! I know I will!
