First dress try-on (pics)... need a little support...

Never thought I'd post a thread up here asking for some support, especially since I'm fairly new to this site and a lil shy to post these pics.

When I first chose my dress I really loved the way it looked on me despite the size 12 sample size. This one is my actual dress (size 2) and I didn't feel the same way as when I first picked the dress. I think it looks just OK.

The reason why I probably don't feel as happy about the way it looks is because it still needs to be altered to fit in length AND needs the undergarments, plus I wish I gained at least 5 lbs...I'm really short and thin.

I have an appointment booked for my first fitting in March and maybe then I will feel better about it. I can't stand to think that I will be feeling this way about my dress for the next 2 months! I'm not even a picky bride, I just wish I felt the same as when I first chose it.

You made a good point, considering you tried on a bigger dress, when you put your undergarments & slip on & it is alter to fit you, I am sure you will be so much happier!

Your dress is absolutely gorgeous!!!! Once it fits right and is pressed, I am sure you will feel differently...And you are not alone feeling this way..I second-guessed my dress a few times but you have to remember the way you felt the first time you tried it on and knew it was the one.

stunning...once it's tailored to you-you will feel differently about it. I felt that way about my dress, my girlfriend did when she first tried it on. It will fit you like a glove and you will be so excited. Try to look forward to that. It's very normal to feel this way.

It's gorgeous! I felt a little awkward trying on my dress until I got my undergarments.

dress looks great... you made ME feel a lot better b/c my dress is a size 12 and it needs to be altered significantly... and now i know it can be done... does your dress have boning?

The part I feel looks better is the top.. but I don't like the way it looks from the waist down. Here is the detail of the upper part..

I think it's Gorgeous!!!
You look stunning already without any of the necessary undergarments.

Once you have it altered and pressed you will be just as happy as you first were when trying it on.

It's beautiful and you are going to make a gorgeous bride.

I'm sorry that you feel 'unsure' about your dress, but it does make me feel better because I feel the exact same way! I think it's normal! I just found my dress this past weekend, and I'm already planning to go back to try it on, using a hair and make-up trial as an excuse! And - judging by the picture you posted, yours really looks like a beautiful dress! LIKE A PRINCESS! With those undergarments on, it will look PERFECT!

I'm so sorry you feel that way about your dress. If it makes you feel any better, it's a GORGEOUS DRESS!!!! I think once you have everything on, undergarments, shoes, veil, headpiece, etc. You'll feel like the princess bride you will be!!!!

I can understand why a bride may feel unsure about their dress...we all have so much pressure to have the 'one'...if it makes you feel better..I just want you to know that your dress looks amazing on you!! So if you are concerned, don't be. You have a beautiful shape and the dress suites you well..
