Any other ideas for Favors

Does anyone else feel like these favors are a tad ridiculous. Why spend hundreds on something so useless. Anything good is $5+ and I can't afford it. Any other suggestions?
I was thinking a charity or something. What do you do leave placecard type things at each seat telling the guest???

Re: Any other ideas for Favors

I think a donation is a great idea! I personally like edible favors too (but my family and FI will not go for that). I never realized how difficult it could be to find favors!

Re: Any other ideas for Favors

I am doing soy candles from pureintegrity.com. They come in a flower pot shaped glass. You can do any smell you want. I chose fresh linen, since it is white. The candle burns for 20 hours. They could even put them in organza bags, which I am doing they are very reasonable. I went to their website and right now they are doing a flat rate of $5 for shipping and 20% your first order when you register with them.
Good luck...

Re: Any other ideas for Favors

What if you wrote a small note to each guest telling them what they mean to you. Time consuming, but free, and much better than a cheap favor.

I'm right there with you as far as favors are concerned. The only kind i like are the edible ones. All the other weddings i've been to, the favors are usually left behind and it's never something that both people can enjoy. I mean what guy wants to get a picture frame, cheese spreader, salt & pepper, etc (no offense to anyone)? But my FH certainly wouldn't want anything like that.

So we decided to do M&M's.

You can find these boxes on ebay for $40, including shipping for 200 boxes. I believe to fill up the boxes, it would take about 10lbs of M&M's which is about $120 dollars (i could be wrong about the lbs). So we figure... thats not bad. $160 for our favors, plus the blue ribbon for the box.

Re: Any other ideas for Favors

I did a candle, candle snuffer and a lighter. They were a hit! A candle snuffer is always great because everyone has candles. They were inexpensive also. They have candle snuffers which are also place card holders too!
