Bourne Mansion Brides
PLEASE HELP!!!!I am about to book my wedding at the BM. I was told that they are tearing it down in 2007 so there wont be any 2007 dates available. Any info on this?
VERY IMPORTANT: how is the food at BM?

Re: Bourne Mansion Brides
Isn't the Mansion a historic mansion? I don't think they can tear it down. The place where I work has a ball there every September and it is absolutely beautiful. This past September was my first time going and the food was good- there were over 800 people there!! They put a tent on the front lawn for our event.

as far as I know, it is a historic landmark - meaning it cannot be torn down.who told you that?

Re: Bourne Mansion Brides
There's a thread out there about someone asking for places that were similar to the Bourne Mansion because they weren't sure if they would be doing weddings in 2007, I'm not sure how to link but, if you do a search you might be able to find it.

I thought it was a HL too, but apparently a developer is interested in building condos there. Ben said if they will have dates in 07 they will not know until march or april.

Re: Bourne Mansion Brides
I guess if I were you, I'd wait to see if they were doing weddings and possibly look at other venues that fit what you want (the link had a nice list of them).I am sure your date will still be available at Bourne if they do decide to continue to have weddings, most people won't book until they are sure of this.

Re: Bourne Mansion Brides
I am having my wedding there this November. I can't believe it. I know that they have renovated two of their sights. You may want to call St. John's University since it is their buikding. They may have more information for you. Everyone I have talked to has said that the cocktail hour was fabulous.good luck
