Jericho Terrace brides...are you using a DOC?

Or do you think the bridal attendants will be able to handle everything?

I think bridal attendents are able to handle it. They all seem to know what they are doing

Re: Jericho Terrace brides...are you using a DOC?

Depends what you would want a DOC for. The bridal attendant and Maitre 'D can really handle problems while at JT...so if you're having your ceremony and reception there, I say you should be OK - mine were both awesome and extra attentive. However, they clearly can't handle situations that happen elsewhere or assist you with your timeline, requests to the photographers or anything else that a DOC does. I was anal to the point of having my Banquet Manager (who rocks!) hand in all my paperwork exactly as I wrote it, because my spreadsheets were more detailed than what they used...but if you're not that detailed (and seriously, I was just a nut! ) then a DOC might do that for you and might 'troubleshoot' should you have any issues.

The bottom line on DOC's is that very few regret having them (I have only read 2 reviews were the brides weren't happy) but not everyone that didn't have one, wanted one. So it's ultimately up to you and your needs that day - or leading up to it.

So sorry for the novel.

I love reading the novels posted and your advice is always appreciated! I'm having my ceremony at my Church and that's another reason I want a DOC. But FH thinks the attendants will be able to handle everything at the reception. Screw it, I'm just gonna hire one. I dont want to deal with any problems the big day, i just want to relax and enjoy and I think having a DOC will guarantee that!

Thank you! I know I can get really long winded...

To answer your question...yes, a DOC (a good one!) will definitely guarantee a relaxing time. It's not a necessity by any stretch, but it's nice to have that piece of mind and hopefully you won't pay too much for it.

Re: Jericho Terrace brides...are you using a DOC?

I'm having everything done at the hall, so I think the maitre de and bridal attendents should be enough.

Re: Jericho Terrace brides...are you using a DOC?

Im not getting married at JT.. but my sister did and her day went smoothly w/o a DOC. Everyone at JT were great, very attentative and helpful. Plus I was the MOH and my sister asked me before the wedding to just check the cocktail hr to make sure it had all the extras they ordered. So if in doubt thats what the MOH is for!!

Re: Jericho Terrace brides...are you using a DOC?

The maitre d and bridal attendants at JT were wonderful for me!! I was an overly detailed bride, so I personally didn't need a DOC. Plus my ceremony & reception were both at JT which simplified things. You can see my opinion on JT in my review.

Re: Jericho Terrace brides...are you using a DOC?

was not a JT bride, however those are thinking of getting or not getting a DOC need to remember that Bridal Attn. do not do everything a DOC would...

I always like to mention that at 16/17 years old I worked at a LI catering hall that had me fill in when the bridal attns. didnt show up or called in...and I was CLUELESS..you have to pray for a good one-
