Re: Sonoma Diet

Where did Malone go? I was joking about the wine, and now I have all these ladies guzzling it down thinking they'll lose weight - maybe I can market that and make a mint...

Re: Sonoma Diet

I found this on their website:

On The Sonoma Diet you'll be eating foods, not categories. You'll be eating controlled amounts of healthy fats — like olive oil. And you'll be eating healthy carbohydrates — like whole grain breads, cereals, and pastas. You'll also enjoy fruits, vegetables, meats, and cheeses. You may be surprised to learn that many of your favorite foods are actually a part of The Sonoma Diet!

1: Chocolate
Chocolate is an all-natural food with remarkable health benefits. If this is one of your favorite foods, you're in luck — it's also part of The Sonoma Diet!

2: Dessert
If you have a sweet tooth — do not fret! The Sonoma Diet has you covered. Starting in Wave 2, you'll be able to indulge in delicious desserts like Apple-Blueberry Tart, Peach Cobbler, Summer Berries with Almond Sauce, and more!

3: Carbs
That's right — fruits, vegetables, and whole grain breads, pastas, cereals, and crackers are all included in The Sonoma Diet. Enjoy!

4: Snacks
Letting yourself get too hungry between meals is counterproductive to your weight loss efforts. You'll simply be tempted to overeat when mealtime comes. That's why The Sonoma Diet not only allows snacking but encourages it!

5: Alcohol
Wine is not just allowed on the diet — it's encouraged. With a modest number of calories, a daily glass of wine has been clearly shown in recent years to reduce your risk of heart disease. In addition to its heart-healthy benefits, wine helps you enjoy your food, leaving you more satisfied after eating less.

Re: Sonoma Diet

I bought the book this weekend and here is the basics of it.

You don't need to measure on this diet. You basicall use a 7' plate for Breakfast and a 9' plate for Lunch and Dinner.

You fill it according to this:

Breakfast: 75% of the plate is protein and 25% is Carbs.

So you could have 2 eggs and a peice of whole wheat toast.

Or you can have anytype of whole grain cereal in a 2 cup bowl. 1 cup cereal/1 cup ff milk.

For Lunch you can have

40% protein and 60% vegetables on your plate.

Dinner

30% protein, 20% Carbs & 50% vegetables.

You need to choose one option for lunch or Dinner but you can't choose the same option of both lunch and dinner.

All carbs must be whole grain.

So the diet is basically portion control acording to the plate size. Obviously you can't pile things high on the plate. lol.

Three phases of the Diet. First phase 10 days and you can't drink any wine.

After the first 2 weeks you can have a glass of wine at one meal. (the good part of the diet)

That is the Jist of it. This is all from memory but I think it is pretty accurrate.
