Catholic mass question
The other night, my FH and I went through the book and outline that the priest provided for us. It had the whole mass done up in an outline, and there were fill in the blanks wherever we had to choose a reading or a psalm, etc.It was all relatively easy to follow.
But, in the end I was confused about what parts we were picking that the priest would read and what parts our readers were responsible for.
Can anyone shed some light on which parts of a Catholic mass the readers read?
How many readers are needed?

Re: Catholic mass question
I happen to have my copy of Together for Life handy! The readers usually do the old and new testament readings and the prayer of the faithful. I've been to one wedding where they had someone do the responsorial psalm as well (usually sung by the singer).
I'm planning on having 2 readers, 2 people do the prayer of the faithful, and 3 people bring the gifts up.

Re: Catholic mass question
You can have either two or three readers. The readers do the First Reading and the Second Reading. (The priest does the gospel)
You also have the option of a third reader who reads the Prayer of the Faithful.

***Second that, I'm doing the same--I love a mass!***
