Update on Buddy (my Diabetic cat)

I have learned so much about Diabeties!!

We started
1 unit twice a day for a few months
Took him to the vet ($67)
Upped him to 3 units
Took him to the vet ($67)
Upped him to 5 units
Took him to the vet ($67)
Upped him to 6 units
Taking him back to the vet on the 21st

He's getting to be more himself
But I found out that diabetes causes numbness of his legs.

Didnt KNOW that but did kind of wonder why my poor cat would jump to get to the table and take a REALLY REALLY hard hit on his chest, flip backward under the table and land nasty because he missed.

When he did make it to the table sometimes you'd hear his hind leg thud against the table, like he didn't fully make it.

Man was I relieved to find out its part of his disease....

Now if only my lazy cat would learn he can't hop like he used to!

Re: Update on Buddy (my Diabetic cat)

It will not subside.

He just needs to learn its part of it.

OK so now we're up to 8 units

And we're moving to a new isulin since the human one is obviously not doing the job.

*sigh*

Re: Update on Buddy (my Diabetic cat)

My Reggie had diabetes. He would get a shot 2x a day. After a while, they know when they are due for the shot. Reggie would get antsy and bark at 6 am and 6 pm.
