Mom had fight with FMIL

She justed called and turns out picking a cake is the least of my worries, why does it seem like there is a different disaster everyday since we started this whole wedding thing ahhhhh

Mom said FMIL insulted her, I do not know how, but Mom is jewish and FMIL is italian, apparently to them this means the other doesnt like them. Mom is so sensitive, she thinks FI is controlled by his mom and that she is over bearing and meddling. She also thinks FMIL is 'stuck in her old ways' and finds her rather 'annoying', I think they had a heated fight and I do not want to get sucked into it..

FI and I have been through this and we end up fighting our mom's fights...

Why can't we all just get along!!!!!!!!!!!

How do they know each other so well? Do they get together alot? Before the wedding our parents didnt meet until the rehearsal dinner.

They met a number of times, family is very important to FMIL and she had to get to know everyone in my family way b4 the actual wedding, she needs to know everyones name an who they are married to, how many children they have and she also thinks that my mom has to learn everything about her family (which is huge), our family is very small in comparison. Its too much for my mom and I think for both of them its a culture shock..
