Query for my fellow OCD Brides
FH is creating a wedding website. Our colors are burgundy and white. The colors on the website are gradients of pink all the way to burgundy, with no white because FH thinks it's too stark a contrast (umm, hello, that's why I picked those colors - I like the contrast, and I personally don't really like pink).
Then he took the absoutely beautiful monogram a certain bride made for me and turned it on it's head. Now instead of it being contained in a rectangle, it's contained in a diamond. He also shrunk it to proportions that IMHO are way too small. He says he can't change it because of the resolution.
With it shaped like this, it no longer matches the cover of our programs. Not to mention the fact that he couldn't replicate it exactly, so the border around the date is missing.
Then he added a bunch of stuff which I don't think should be there. For example, he wants a page that includes pictures of the BM dresses. Umm, why don't we just post a picture of my wedding dress, if we're going to reveal the BM's dresses????
He also wants to include all the RD information. I think it should be left off because the RD is not for every single invited guest, it's only for the wedding participants and immediate family. For this he is willing to compromise and password protect that portion of the site so only invited guests can access it.
His justification for all the add'l info is that the purpose of the website is too have all info centrally located for everyone. I told him my girls know what dress they are wearing, and since I'm ordering them here in NY, there is nothing they need to do except email me their measurements.
So the official OCD queries . . . am I being too OCD over the colors matching the wedding colors, am I being too OCD over the monogram matching the programs, and for the non-OCD queries, am I wrong to not want the BM dresses posted online?

Re: Query for my fellow OCD Brides
I would not stress over the colors not matching your wedding colors or the monogram not matching the programs.
I dont think that I would want my BM dresses posted online. Granted it is not as big of a suprise as your own dress, but it is nice to keep some details a suprise for the big day!
ETA: If you have a lot of people who will be looking at the website who are not invited to the RD you may want to leave that info out as well. You dont want there to be any hurt feelings. ( or random people showing up)

Re: Query for my fellow OCD Brides
First I want to say it is really nice that your FH is working on a wedding website for you two. Then to reply to your OCD-- it would bug me too. Those are the colors you want to represent your wedding so you also want those colors applied to the wedding website. I totally get it and agree with you. I would want everything to match too. The second part about the monogram would annoy me too. I would ask him just to keep it as was in the first place.
The last thing about the bridesmaid dresses and RD should not be on the site IMO. Only information for all of your guests should be on the site.
So basically I agree with you 100%!! I do want to say again it is nice that your FH is working on the wedding web site.

Re: Query for my fellow OCD Brides
you should be very happy that your man wants to get involved with the wedding process.. most guys dont even want to know what they have to wear until the week before.I would not worry about all the colors not matching, as long as it is a beautifully done website, which im sure it is, then dont worry that everything doesnt go together.
I wouldnt put the dresses on their either because you want to keep some ascpect of the wedding a surprise... good luck!
