Early weddings-after party?

For those whose weddings are ending before 6pm....

What are you doing afterwards? Anyone having an after-party of some sort?
Any suggestions?

I just can't imagine going home so early on my wedding night!

Re: Early weddings-after party?

We're all staying at the Marriott in Islandia and we'll probably hang out at the bar there for a while. It will have been an early day so I don't know how long I'll last!

Re: Early weddings-after party?

We are contemplating the same thing. We are thinking we will either have people come back to the house, or we will all go to the city. (90% of the guests live in the 5 boroughs)

Re: Early weddings-after party?

Yeah... money is sort of an issue too. I don't want to have to pay another $2,000 just to do something instead of sit at home....

Also, my parents and FILs don't want to entertain after the wedding, which is absolutely understandable.

But we have alllllll night and lots of out of town friends to have fun with....

Re: Early weddings-after party?

Our wedding ends at 6pm in Port Jeff and my FH's parents live close by in Setauket. They have volunteered to have people back at their house...just some drinks and finger food. We are going to get a shuttle to take everyone from the reception to the hotel and back and forth to their house. I just want to make sure everyone is safe. I think it will be a funtime. That way the party doesn't have to end so early!!

Re: Early weddings-after party?

My reception ends at 6 p.m. and I definitely want to keep celebrating. We are going to have an after party at a nearby hotel. We also booked our bridal suite and reserved a block of rooms at that hotel so that people who stay for the after party can stay overnight.

We are not, however, paying for the afterparty. People will pay for their own drinks as they go.

We do plan to host a brunch for everyone the next morning, and we will cover that cost.
