Re: gown shopping...
I absolutely LOVE Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point. They have a HUUUUGE selection of wedding gowns...(not so much in bridesmaid, but if u find a bm gown u like, they can order pretty much anything) anyway, their sample gowns are also kept SO NICE...so u really get a feel for the dress... go when 'Little Marie' is there...she's wonderful and truly LOVES what she does - and try to go on a weeknight...thursdays they're open late & you'll be the only one there :) i went and marie pulled out about 40 gowns for me to try on! They're fabulous and their seamstress' are great too...definetly check them out.

Re: gown shopping...
I went to Bridal Reflections and one girl there, Amanda, was very nice and helpful. I'll be honest, the other girls were snotty--one of which I wanted to smack, but Amanda was great. Ultimately, I went there only to try on and I got my dress at a considerable discount at Burton's. But they will let you try on until your heart's content at BR! Good Luck.
PS, go on a random week night, WOW weekends get busy.

Re: gown shopping...
I think every bride should go to Kleinfeld just to see it - they are the biggest bridal store in the world (supposedly :)) I picked my dress when I was there (they had EVERY dress I wanted to try), but I didn't want to keep going to NYC for fittings, etc, so I bought my dress at Wedding Salon of Manhassett. They were really nice and I was confident buying there.

I found my dress at Lillette's in Baldwin in Merrick Road. They were so nice and helpful. I also really liked the fact that they were not pushy and showed me dresses that suited my body type...and my budget!
