We did not have a specific song played. The organist just played whatever she wanted.

We are having 'teh Wedding Song' played...I have loved this song since I was a little girl in the church choir...Here are the lyrics...

we used 'one hand, one heart' from west side story...' make of our hands, one hand
make of our hearts, one heart...'
etc, etc,
we didn't have a singer... the organist just played the music, but i knew the lyrics and thought it was really appropriate for the unity candle ceremony and what it symbolizes

I'm using One Hand, One Heart from West Side Story as well....love that for unity candle!I love the Irish Wedding song too but am having no singers - I feel like you need to hear the words to that - not just the music.

My mother sang The Wedding Song while we light the unity candle! She's my song bird!

ME TOO!!! Not only do the words work perfectly but it's my fave movie of all time! I have a string quartet playing it!

Who is the composer of the Irish Wedding Song? I may change my mind...it sounds lovely. Right now we are using a traditional Methodist Hymn at that point...'O Perfect Love' and my mother is singing. We are having a very traditional wedding.O perfect Love, all human thought transcending,
