What should I do? (a bit long)
I booked a trial with Mia from ************* - my dad is helping me out with the money for it, since she is so pricey. I loved the pics I saw, and I am having her do hair and makeup.
I asked my friend (and BM) a while back if she knew of someone, before I began looking, and she said she goes to someone who does all that, but she never takes appointments - you just have to show up and wait. I didn't feel comfortable with that, so I decided to go with someone I feel would be easier to schedule somehting with.
So, I have been excited abt my trial with Mia (not until February) and have been making plans around it. Yesterday, my friend called - she was at the salon where her girl is, and she said she could do my date, come to Harborclub, etc. I said great - when can I book a trial, and she said again - no, she doesn't make appointments, you just have to show up. BUT - the day of would be $150.00 for both (exactly half of Mia's cost) and the trial would be about $30.00. She would definitely schedule showing up.
So, now I'm torn - I guess for $30.00, it can't hurt to arrange an afternoon to show up for a trial, but I'm not comfortable with someone who doesn't take appointments. However, my friend has been going for years and has never been let down by her.
I guess it's the money I am looking at. But at the same time, my dad will be lending me the money to book her, and then I would pay the rest, so I will wind up spending $150.00 regardless.
what should I do? If you used Mia, let me know how you felt, and assure me that despite the price, she's the one I should go with!!!

Just because mia's prices are high, doesn't necessarily mean she's the best. For some reason many girls think that here. I say go for a trial with your friends artist and see how it goes. What do you have to lose? What does having an appointment have to do with being comfortable anyway? I planned everything the way I thought I would want it to happen, and went against it all. Good Luck.

Thanks ladies - I think I needed to hear that! I was assuming I would have a bunch of women say - no - Mia is the best, don't go to anyone else... OK - I will have to free up an afternoon and go to her....

Love the boots by the way:) Give your friends girl a shot. I agree, what is the most expensive is not always the best. And you did say your friend has never been let down by her. I say why not, you could wind up liking her even better. Don't just settle.
