Changing dresses after the church

My step mom who is a big part of the family now says she is going to change her dress after the church. Is this norm for part of the family? I wanted to rush to the reception to take pics while it is still daylight. She has been extremely helpful and generous in the planning and I feel bad making her wear her dress to the church. Any suggestions????

I'm sure that if you tell her your plans of wanting to take pics then she'll understand that you need her to wear her dress to the church. You said she's been generous and helpful so she should be supportive of your wishes. Maybe she doesn't realize that you want her in the pics? If you have a good relationship then simply ask her to come dressed to the church and for what reason, I couldn't see her giving you a hard time about that.
