NWR: Car poll

i was just talking to my friend, and now i have a question for you all...
who has the nicer car? you or DH? if its DH, do you mind?

so, i was talking to my friend about another friend, named C, that we know from HS who we're not too fond of. i was saying how C just got a new car- a pontiac G6, totally hooked up with leather and i think navi... and i was saying how Cs DH has double the commute that C does, so i would think he would want the nicer car for the longer drive, and my friend goes ' well, most DHs are like that- they let the wife drive the nicer car'
just curious on your thoughts

Well.... I had just graduated and my parents were buying a new car so they gave me their old car- my father kept in great condition - altima- is was like 5 years old.. not bad,

FH had a mercedes...brand new- it was really nice

I decided I wanted a new car- I got a new Xterra- LOVE it

Then, we got engaged, bought our house and the payments on the mercedes were too much- plus insurance- SO, he sold it and took over my old altima...but I did not keep it in good condition, so poor guy is driving around in my old car so we can save some money....SO needless to say my car is nicer and newer, BUT he will get a new one soon!

We only have one car and it's 'ours' but really DH's. I can't drive it (it's an SUV). I will be getting my own car soon (a real car of normal size! LOL) but DH's will still be 'nicer'. And I don't mind.

ETA: My brother and his wife have a Nissan Altima and Sentra. The Altima (nicer) is my brother's but his wife drives it and my brother drives the Sentra. He lets her have the nicer car even though his commute is much longer. Makes no sense to me.

We live in the city and don't have any cars!

When we need one we use zipcar.com

FHs dad is giving us his old car when we move.

I have the nicer car. I got it as a college graduation present. Although it's 4 1/2 years old, it doesn't have many miles on it. Until recently, DH had a piece of crap car with somewhere between 150,000 and 200,00 miles on it. For a little while, we will use my dad's old car as our 2nd car. The car is fine, but mine is nicer. DH mainly drives my car though. I wouldn't care if he had the nicer car b/c he likes to drive and does all of the driving when we're together. He also drives to work while I take the train.

thats the way i feel- right now, DH has the nicer car- althought i'm looking to get a new small SUV soon ( the new Rav 4s are nice!) ... and i don't mind that he has the nicer car-he LOVES to drive, so we always take his car whenever we go out... and probably when i get my new one, we'll start taking that all the time...
i would however like if my DH stopped being such a brat and offered to help me pay for a least a little bit of the new car, since it'll probably become our 'family' vehicle..... hes slowly coming around to the idea

He has a nicer car, but I like mine better.

He has a mustang convertible and I don't like to drive in convertibles, it messes up my hair.

I have a cute Volvo S40.

we are even we both have nice cars him 04 loaded Tahoe, me 05 cadillac STS and I have to say I love love love my car!

Growing up my mom always got the new car and my dad got her old one until I was in HS and my dad got himself a new car. But I think the wife always having the nicer car is silly. FH and I know excatly what cars we want, so hopefully we'll get them and we'll never have an issue because we'll be very happy with our cars.

My mom also always got the nice new car. What I find funny is that she only drives locally (and will rarely even go on the parkway) yet she gets the nicer car. A few months ago, however, my dad got the nice car and my mom kept her car (although I think she mentioned something about trading her car in for a newer model).

Hmmm, it's hard to say which is 'nicer'. It's a difference of our tastes, and size too!!

I like lil cars, so I drive a 2002 Hyundai Elantra. He likes trucks, so he drives a '95 Chevy Tahoe.

but they are both 2005s plus he has a 2003 pathfinder just for the winter

he had to take his car off the road b/c OMG it got salt on it

his is loud and not my taste- it's a 2005 saleen mustang- it was even in the chicago auto show last year

mine is a Benz - but nothing fancy- just the 230 sports seden- it looks pretty- but small and bad in the snow

however- I will add that my Mom always drove the worst car- my dad always had something nice, then came us- then she would take the car none of us would drive- until she got sick- she came out of a coma and asked for a navigator- it was a funny moment after a rough 2 weeks- needless to say my Dad bought her a mountainer- he navigator was too big

He drives an 2004 acura tl and I drive a 2004 honda accord coupe..... I love my car!!

I would say we are pretty even...He bought himself a new volvo s80 in October, and had the nicer car for a month, I had an 02 Camaro, but for Christmas he traded in my car and paid the difference and got me a new Jeep Liberty...

i have the nicer car.

FH shares the family cars. he usually takes the train to work, so he doesnt need one. plus the train system is pretty good in sydney.

he drives a holden and a nissan bluebird. we dont have these cars here.

i drive a 2001 VW GTI 1.8 turbo. i love this car.unfortunately my foot is like lead when i drive it and i have gotten caught speeding .

I would say that we are pretty even I have a Maxima loaded but it is a 2000 and it is still in great shape and I love it- He has a 2005 CRV so he can carry all his band equipment around.

how does he like the CRV so far?? thats one of the ones i'm considering... its between the new 06 RAV 4, and the CRV....

I have a volvo s60, and my FH has some older car, but being mine has almost no miles on it, and i have had it for 3 years allready... he drives it to work because he has a long commute, the furthest i go is 7 miles lol unless im goin out
