Donations to Charities as Favors????

This year my mothe is a ten year breast cancer survivor. So, I was thinking of doing favors for the guests as a donation in their name to a breast cancer charity. As a guest would you be disapointed not to recieve a traditional favor?

I think this is a great idea too! Sometimes as cute as favors are, they become clutter once I ge them home. As a guest, I much prefer the donation. A cousin of FH has MS, so we are also donating. It adds another personal touch to the wedding.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to go with it. I sort of think the food and dancing is enough of a gift for the guests.

We are going to make a donation as well. I was thinking of splitting it...donate to 2 charities. One to an animal charity and the other to breast cancer (FMIL is a 5 year survivor). We'll also provide a scroll indicating this as a favor along with some sort of candy.

I am donating as well. My mother is a very recent breast cancer survivor. I am donating to the hospital unit she stayed at post her mastectomy! they will honor her with a plaque on the wall of the unit. I think its a great idea. Most people hate dust collectors anyway. I will be attaching a small tag to a small box of truffles stating a donation was made in honor of my mom.

We are doing donation favors to the American Cancer Society. They make up beautiful scrolls and they do 'in memory of...', 'in honor of...', or a general one. They are beautiful and I think its a wonderful idea.
