UNIQUE CENTERPIECES
I was wondering what people's opinions were on having fishbowls with live fish as part of their centerpiece.Does anyone have other ideas for unique centerpieces?

Re: UNIQUE CENTERPIECES
Kind of cool, I've definitely never been to a wedding that had that. Some of your guests can take them home too! That's a very unique idea....

Yes!!!! my best friend's wedding, she had beta fish in red and blue with different blue and red rocks on the bottom of the bowls. She scattered orchids around the bowls with few votives. She got married in 04, and i still have my fish from the wedding!

Re: UNIQUE CENTERPIECES
I went to a wedding where the centerpiece was tall (bottom was the tube) with fish and the top was the flowers. It looked really nice.

Re: UNIQUE CENTERPIECES
i personally do not like the idea. you would have to hope that enough people at the wedding actually want to leave with a pet so they all have a home at the end of the night. also, though they are easy to care for, not everyone knows how to or is willing to put in the effort for the little guys, so you would have to send them home with food, fishnet, and care instructions as well. plus that is a lot of stress for the fish with the travel to and from the reception, not to mention if the flowers are in the same water as the beta it can harm it. i don't mean to put a damper on the idea, i do think it looks awesome (of course i do, i am getting married in an aquarium!). i just don't like the idea for centerpieces. good luck! ~lacey

Re: UNIQUE CENTERPIECES
I thought this was the coolest thing and did it at my graudation party. It really will not put a good mood on the party if there are fish belly up in bowls on the tables. It sounds cool but it probably wouldn't be great for your wedding

Re: UNIQUE CENTERPIECES
Fh's cousin's bat mitzvah had this, they had tall centerpieces with balloons and bowls with colored marbles with beta fish in them. It looked really nice, but I don't think anyone even took the fish home with them. And there were at least 18 of them.Something to think about.

Re: UNIQUE CENTERPIECES
You can also have the centerpieces as a giveaway, at the end of the night. Only have the people interested in winning them enter with the DJ. Just an idea.

The fish thing is a nice idea but ask the pet store about how to keep them alive for as long as possible. I knew someone that did this and her fish died.

Re: UNIQUE CENTERPIECES
I think it's a great idea! But I feel compelled to share this story:
Last summer, my boss went to a wedding that had goldfish CPs...at the end of the night, 2 of the groomsmen were SO DRUNK, they were dared to drink the fish, AND THEY DID. They CONSUMED THE GOLDFISH
