For Those Who Lost Weight

before your wedding, did you have any troubles with the alterations? I'm afraid this will happen if I try to lose too much. TIA!

Re: For Those Who Lost Weight

i think I lost about 15 lbs and it wasn't a problem to alter my dress. HOWEVER- my dress was very plain. White ballgown with some rhinestones at the waist.

If your dress has very intricate beading, I would be a little careful. it may be difficult to re-do all that work.

Re: For Those Who Lost Weight

my dress had to be taken in over 12' on the bodice. My seamstress did an amazing job!! she's a LIW vendor - Cathy Fiorenti.

Re: For Those Who Lost Weight

I lost weight and my dress was an off the shoulder and two weeks before the wedding the seamstress told me to start eating more since they couldn't take in the shoulders anymore otherwise it would've messed up where the armpits would be-I lost more weight and they were able to but elastic on the straps and it was perfect! I think it really depends on how good your seamstress is and what type of dress you are getting.

Re: For Those Who Lost Weight

Taking dresses in is no problem its making them bigger that is the problem. I lost over 60lbs from the time I ordered my dress, when it came in it fell off me but Kleinfled did an amazing job with the alterations!!!!
