E-party Thank You Cards

OK - so my mom is really driving me nuts - and I HAVE to get the Thank You Cards done for my engagement party - which is March 5th. I know i know - why do them now - if I didnt even HAVE the party yet? well - its a smart idea - although annoying - my mom likes to put the TY card on the favor - so that when the party is over - theres nothing left to do, so I dont have to mail out to everyone a TY card - and it saves time and money (for the stamps, labels for the names and addresses)

OK - so sorry this is soo long - but - this is my question. Since the TY cards will be in the favors - they have to be general - and not personalized, and I dont know what to write.

This is what I have:

We would like to thank you for your generous gift, and for sharing this special day with us.

now - FH likes it - and then i sd is it too weddingy?? and he sd yes - soo how can I have a general TY card, that doesnt sound tooo much like a wedding TY card??

what if someone didn't give a gift!! You know how that happens sometimes :( ... I would feel funny doing that..that maybe i would offend someone. My Eparty is on the 25th! I bought the TY cards already but I am going to personalize them.

well - they get the favor when they go to say goodbye to me and hand me my gift - so i hand them the favor with the TY card on it already - and im having a formal e-party - its at Russos on the Bay - with 125ppl - NO GIFT = NO FAVOR = NO THANK YOU!!!

I wouldn't put 'generous gifts'. B/C some of FI friends & family were not generous.

I am still waiting for one friend to even give us a gift.

I agree with Chrissy and Theresa.

Yes it would be nice if they all got you a gift...but there are always a few. And there are always those that may not afford it or I saving up to give you a bigger wad for your busta at the wedding.

I would rather say something to the affect of Thank you for being a part of our lives and sharing in the special day with us...or something..

Then again....thanking them for the generous favor...if they didn't give you one...could make them feel guilty and then give you something....but I don't think thats nice to do...


Hmm...double edged sword....

And thats why my happy a will do thank yous after the party!

edited because on the top i put it would be nice if they all got you a favor, instead of they all got you a gift. brain rot

well - its just immediate family going - and close freinds - so im not worried abt getting a gift - but i def appreciate and THANK you for your honest comments and opinions

tivoli room - will be coming out of the elevator - trying to convince FH to go down on one knee while we come up ... i think its cute!!!! hes down on one knee - its our engagement party - fits right??

yea my E party is April 1st and I won't send out thank yous until afterward. Plus if someone gets you something really personal youwould want to thank them instead of in a general way.
