Brides who have used Patken or DUET

I am having the hardest time picking a photographer and would love your girls opinions.

1. Patken - They are a bit $$ but it seems like they do great creative work. For brides who didn't use Doug what did you think? Can you show me your proofs? Is there video anything like the one they show you?

2. Duet - They have become more $ and I've heard that they seemed rushed. Even still we get more for our money. I think the video is okay not great.

Any recent brides willing to show proofs? I've already done a search - but that didn't have too many Patken proofs.

I am using Patken.. But I can tell you that my sister used them for Photog and Video. Her pics are beautiful and they did a gret job on the video. Unfortunately I cant show you the proofs She used Steve for her Photog and thats who I am using. They were even kind enough and offered to drop off the GM flowers at the church sicn ehtey were going there to take pics!!

I booked with Duet and I have 2 photographers for 10 hours so I'm not sure how that would seem rushed. Try doing a search on these boards for Patken and Duet. There's been a ton of discussion about both companies and I'm sure you'd get lots of feedback.

I don't know if it helps any, but I booked with Patken. I have heard many good things about them and I know several couples who have booked them for their wedding.

i used patken (nick) and my pictures came out amazing. do a search for my posts, my proofs are on the 'some patken proofs' topic. i also have them posted on the community photo album. i used patken for video too and love my video!

I understand what you mean by Duet being 'rushed'
I think they are booking more work than their studio can handle. I've read some girls who post here were not too impressed with first drafts of their albums and they would go through several rounds of revisions before they were satisfied.

I'm using them anyway, but will be more diligent about how my album is laid out to ensure a perfect album. ;)

It really comes down to which style you prefer - Duet or Patken. Good luck!

Debbiedee77 is my maid of honor... her pictures were BEAUTIFUL! And her video is really nice... I think she's going to wear out her DVD from watching it so much! It is SUCH a fun video to watch... Patken really captured a lot!

My brother used Patken, so between the two of them, I booked Patken, too!

We chose patken...their pictures were beautiful and they were willing to work with our budget. We felt Duet was too expensive and we liked the style of Patken better.

My future sister-in-law used Patken and the pictures were beautiful she had Steve. The video was also great. We are getting married in 02/07 and are going to look at Patken also.

I am booked with Patken for my video, photos, and plasma screens. My FH and I didn't shop much for a Photographer and wasn't aware of the average amount. OUr total came to over $5000; that a lot of money, but I am very particulus when it comes to photos. We are booked with Vinny, one of the BEST.
