Poll- Question about bridal showers

My co worker and I are having a disagreement. I say that if you are invited to a shower and cannot attend that you should send a gift. She feels otherwise- that if you don't go, then you don't have to give a gift. What do you ladies think?

Re: Poll- Question about bridal showers

We anytime I was unable to attend I've sent a gift. However I feel that it depends on the person. Sometimes you get invited to radom showers and if you aren't close to the person then I don't feel you need to send a gift if you don't want to. However I have never been in that position.

Re: Poll- Question about bridal showers

I always send a gift. I usually send (for showers) what I would send if I went anyway.

Re: Poll- Question about bridal showers

if i'm invited to shower of a close personal friend and i can't attend--yes of course i would send a gift. but if i'm not that close to the person--i don't think i would send a gift.

Re: Poll- Question about bridal showers

i was invited to this girl's shower. she and i have this hidden tension for one another. i was invited to her shower and i did not attend and also didn't send a gift. but for others that i am fond of i do give gifts to. so it depends on the person for me.
