NWR: I absolutely hate my job

I hate to vent ladies and I rarely do on here, but I absolutely hate my job and don't know how much more I have left in me. I planned to suck it up and deal with it until after the wedding in November, but I don't think I'm going to be able to. My unhappiness is really starting to affect other aspects of my life. Unfortunately, I have been looking and looking and can't even find jobs to apply to. I am so frustrated and do not know what to do. FH and I plan to relocate to CT or PA and I am finding it so difficult to locate openings when I don't live in the state. Anyone have any thoughts? I do daily searches on monster, hotjobs, careerbuilder, etc. but nothing is working.

I'm looking for a job in a corporation managing their community/philanthropic efforts.

Sorry for the long winded, very frustrated post.

My thought on this is that you cannot spend your life miserable. Life is short. Do what makes you feel good.

What is your job exactly? Do you really need the money badly?

If I wasn't planning the wedding and absolutely needed the money, I would have quit months ago. Unfortunately at this point, it is just not an option.

Currently, I work for a very large nonprofit organization doing events for our corporate partners, managing volunteer groups at our partner organizations, etc. I want to switch and head back to the corporate side of things...set up 'feel good' initiatives for a company by partnering with nonprofits. Does that make sense?

Have you tried the ASAE job board? ASAE Website Associations may be a good place to look for event planner positions.

Are you willing to go into the non-profit world? If so, you can look on www.idealist.org...I found this site to be very helpful in my job search process a few months ago.
