Bill Levkoff BM dress #966
If you chose this dress will your girls have them bustled? Do you have any other options?

Re: Bill Levkoff BM dress #966
I'm wearing that dress in a wedding this summer...why do you think it needs to be bustled? it doesn't have a train or anything...ETA: I'm tall so the sample was perfect in the length so I didn't realize how the back was (just saw a picture of the back). We're leaving it as is.. for my wedding the BM dresses had a sweep train and we also left it down. It wasn't an issue for anyone.

Re: Bill Levkoff BM dress #966
I was worried it might be a problem that people would step on the back and it might rip or they might trip. You think it's okay as is, though?

Re: Bill Levkoff BM dress #966
I think what the bridal salon told us is that there's a chance if we did a bustle that someone could step on that and it would rip, making it look worse than just people stepping on the back of the gown itself...know what I mean? None of my BMs had any trouble with their sweep trains and they were also Bill Levkoff gowns...just tell your BMs to take very small steps and they won't trip
(j/k)

Re: Bill Levkoff BM dress #966
I can not find a pic of it?? but i assume it has a little sweep... If your girls prefer i would let them get a 1 point bustle to pick up the sweep, i have an evening dress that has a small sweep it is kinda a pain.. people step on it ALOT.. not realizing it is there... i would stand there talking and go to walk away and someone behind me would be standing on it!!!ETA, i found a pic of it! I think that is fine, when the girls get it hemmed they can always make sure it is short enough! BTW.. VERY PRETTY!!!

Here is the dress. I asked about the train also. But the woman in the salon told me that not many people have problems with the sweep train. I dont think Im gonn add the train
Is it an option or are you just going to have them hemmed so there isn't a train?

Re: Bill Levkoff BM dress #966
It should be fine - I was in a wedding where the bm dress had a little train and it was ok. Just have to hold the dress while dancing

Re: Bill Levkoff BM dress #966
i am using 966 and i am ABSOLUTELY having my girls put a bustle in for their own sake! it's not the look i care about, it's the girls themselves!i was in 2 weddings this year that had dresses with sweep trains. plyllis suggested putting a small bustle (that you don't see at all when it's down) and it was included in the charge.
i was the ONLY BRIDESMAID who didn't get her dress stepped on in one of the weddings! the other girls were so jealous and wished they had thought of it.
i'm also having the seamstresses trim the sash to floor length. i don't like how they drag on the ground, and you can't bustle a sash. well, i guess you could, but it wouldn't look good.
so YES YES YES bustle!!!

My bridal salon said that they could put the bustle in during alterations but it would be the BMs decision if they wanted it (or mine). They wouldnt add it on unless I asked for it. As far as I know, they wont hem it so it dosent have a train

Re: Bill Levkoff BM dress #966
This is my dress too and hadn't thought about the train, but maybe I'll have them do the 1 point bustle to avoid the probelms. I don't want them to have their dresses stepped on or ripped or have them trip over it!! Good idea laides-another thing I would never have thought of on my own.

Re: Bill Levkoff BM dress #966
Actually the reason I did not pick this dress for my BM's was because I didn't want them to have to worry about a bustle. That being said, you could alter the dresses so that they don't have the train. I do think they should have at least one point for a bustle if you keep the train. I was a BM once and the dress had a small sweep train and people were stepping on it during the whole reception and it made it difficult to dance with.

Re: Bill Levkoff BM dress #966
I'm considering getting this for my BMs, but I just wish I could see how it looks in black ... on a real person?
Does anyone have pictures of this dress in black or any other color?
Thanks!
