Do you need to watch your diet before trying to conceive?

STUPID QUESTION-
I always thought that you had to eat certain foods or stay away from certain foods before/when trying to conceive. TRue or not?

How about vitamins?

Nope.. not usually.. Unless your OB recommends for some particular genetic reason.... or unless you are horriffically over/under weight, many oBs will recommend you trying to adjust your weight before TTC.

Many food related stigmas are just old wives tales.. good luck!!

You definitely need to start taking prenatals with at least 800-1200 micrograms of Folic acid or folate every day. In terms of food, not really, I mean no alcohol and smoking and there are some foods that you need to watch (sushi, any raw meat or fish, eggs etc., even caesar salad) while pg so maybe slow down on them if you like them while ttc might be easier.
